Dogs have long been called “animals that think with their noses,” and their sense of smell is said to be 3,000 to 10,000 times stronger than that of humans. Gourmet Minister Momo-chan, who is very picky about food preferences and possesses a reliable nose and sense of taste, has carefully selected the following ranking of Jersey milk.
What is Jersey Milk?
The “Jersey breed” is a dairy cattle breed originating from the British Isle of Jersey. It is a rare breed with only 0.8% of all dairy cows in Japan, and is characterized by its brown hair like a kinako.
Ninety-nine percent of Japan’s milk is produced by “Holsteins,” which have a black-and-white pattern like Momo-chan. Compared to the Holstein breed, it is smaller in stature, but produces rich and flavorful milk.
No. 1: Uncle Ushi’s Jersey Milk
The moment I took it out of the eco-bag, I smelled it without even opening the bag, my bright eyes sparkled☆, and I licked around my mouth like Peko-chan, my favorite Jersey milk at such a level that I did a little leap. It was available at Kinokuniya until about July of this year, but unfortunately they no longer carry it, and now it is only sold by mail order.
Even as a human being, I can tell that it is a rich and delicious milk with a slightly sweet aroma when I open the cap.

Unfortunately, I did not drink any Yatsugatake Nobeyama Kogen Jersey milk at all. All the hard work of cycling 30 minutes to the next ward over a bridge to buy it in the sweltering heat was lost.
It is not easy to find Jersey milk in ordinary supermarkets, and it is hard to find stores that carry it, but if you see Momo-chan’s recommended Jersey milk, please give it a try.
