I am sure everyone brushes their teeth, but did you know that the plaque removal rate when using a toothbrush alone is said to be 58%, and using floss improves that by about 20%.
Oral care is a three-step process: toothbrush, floss, and interdental brush.
Here are some recommended oral care products (toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, and interdental brush).
toothpaste
I used to buy toothpaste from the drugstore until I found this toothpaste. I always felt a little discomfort in the same place on my gums, so I consulted my dentist, but the cause was unknown. After trying various toothpastes, I found the toothpaste of my dreams: Pax Naturon gel toothpaste.
The formula is safe and secure as it is abrasive-free and made of 100% natural ingredients.
After using it continuously, the unexplained tingling in my gums went away before I knew it.
I recommend this product because it is non-abrasive and you don’t have to worry about damaging your own teeth.
toothbrush
I was also using a toothbrush sold at a drugstore, but one day I saw a “horse hair toothbrush” at a brush shop in Asakusa. According to the store owner, it was the most popular one in the store, so I bought one just to try it out.
I found out that horse hair toothbrushes are
(1) Less likely to damage tooth enamel
(2) The tips of the bristles do not open easily.
I actually used it myself and found the above advantages to be true. I can brush my teeth thoroughly without pain even when brushing my gums, so I go to the dentist less often for teeth cleaning, and the nylon toothbrush had to be replaced every two weeks or the bristle tips would open up, but the horse-bristle brush does not open up even after two weeks.
I recommend this toothbrush for the environment, your wallet, and your own teeth.
I have not had my wisdom teeth removed, so I use the smaller head toothbrush and the softer bristles for children because I like the softer bristles.
floss
There are several types of floss with and without wax, etc. Waxed floss is more slippery and prevents the tragedy of floss getting stuck between teeth and not being able to be removed. The waxed type is recommended when purchasing floss.
interdental brush
The final step in brushing and flossing is to use an interdental brush to remove any stains that cannot be removed even with flossing.
The bristles of an interdental brush are mainly
(1) Rubber
Brush (wire type)
The bristles made of (2) bristles are recommended because they are more effective in removing plaque from the teeth.
There are many different sizes, so it is hard to know which one to use, but when I asked my dentist during my consultation, he told me my size.
Also, when using an interdental brush, if the tip is not bent like the one on the left side of the photo, bend the tip like the one on the right side so that it can be used firmly on the back teeth!
